Itinerary

01 Drive from Islamabad to Ayun via the Lowali Tunnel. Before arrival, Tirich Mir (7,708m), the highest peak in Hindu Kush, appears.
02 Drive from Ayun to Bomboret where the Kalasha people live by local 4WD. Upon arrival, visit Kalash temples, graveyards and local homes to get a glimpse of the unique culture. Then drive to Rambur valley. Explore village in the evening. Over night at local Kalash guest house.
03 Drive from Ayun to Swat valley. Visit Gumbatuna stupa, Andan Dheri stupa en route.
04 05 Spend two days touring the Gandhara sites in the Swat Valley. We will visit …Shakhurai Buddha (Jahanabad Rock Carved Buddha), Swat Museum, Butkara site-1, Butkara site-3, Saidu Sharif stupa, Amluk Dara, Abasaheb Cheena etc.
06 Drive to Peshawar. En route, we will visit Ashoka Rock Edicts, Jamal Gahri and Unesco’s world heritage site of Takht-i-Bahi。
07 Enjoy a full day sightseeing in Peshawar.In the morning, visit the Peshawar Museum, which houses masterpieces of Gandhara art. Later, walk through the old town with its exotic bazaars, mosques.
08 Visit “the Khyber Pass” (subject to permits). Drive back to Islamabad.
