Nanga Parbat (8,126m), the ninth highest peak in the world, and is called "The Devil's Mountain" by climbers. This course focuses on the view of Nanga Parbat, which has an overwhelming presence. Enjoy the view of Nanga Parbat by staying 2 nights in a mountain lodge at Fairy Meadows, a great viewpoint on the north face, and 2 nights in a camp at Herrligkoffer B.C., the base camp on the south face.

Itinerary

01
Drive from Islamabad to Thakot via Motorway. From Thakot, take the Karakoram Highway to Chilas.

From Raikot Bridge on the Karakoram Highway, take a four-wheel-drive vehicle into the interior of the east bank of the Indus River to Fairy Point (2,666m).
From Fairy Point (2,666m) to Fairy Meadow (3,300m) (about 3 hours Hike)

Early in the morning, if the weather is good, you will have a view of the north face of Nanga Parbat shining in the morning sun.
Viewing the north face of Nanga Parbat hiking (5 hours Hike round trip)
Walk further from Fairy Meadow to the observation point and back. From the top you can enjoy the view of Raikot Glacier.

Fairy Meadow (3,300m) to Fairy Point (2,666m) (about 2 hours Hike)
Return to Fairy Point. Take a four-wheel-drive vehicle from the Indus River to the east bank and drive to Tarashing Village (2,900m) via Astore.

Tarshing Village (2,900m) to Herrligkoffer BC (3,550m) (about 5 hours Trek)

Early in the morning, we will have a great view of the south face of Nanga Parbat shining in the morning sun.
Nanga Parbat south face (about 5 hours Trek round trip)
Climb up the moraine of the glacier to Latobo (3,530m) and back.

Herrligkoffer BC to Tarashing village(about 4 hours Trek)
Then drive to Chilas.

Drive to Islamabad.

Other
The highest camp altitude is 3,550m, and the highest point reached is 3,800m. No special trek / mountaineering skills are required, but regular hiking experience is required.
